Guys, let’s pray for our fellowmen.
People in the evacuation center.
No sickness will harm them
No hunger will be felt
No greed will prevail
People who are still in the flood
No sickness will harm them
No hunger will be felt
Clean water will be supplied there
All will be safe
Flood will soon subside
Government Officials
They will give their best to serve the people, unselfishly.
Bagyong Pepeng
It will not harm a single person
It will not destroy homes
It will not cause flood
It will not stay long in the Philippines
No storm will come next to it.
Victims
That they will not lose hope
That they will continue and move on with their lives
That they will have better lives
That they will be comforted by our God Almighty

The Flood
I woke up last Sat., Sept.26 at 10am with the water reaching my ankle. I assumed that it will not last that long, until it reached half of my knee. We first transferred our dog at our second floor. Suddenly, I just noticed that it kept on rising. I transfer some of the books upstairs along with the stereo. I have also placed the washing machine above a chair.
While observing what’s need to be transferred first, my brother in-law who has four children, ages 9 yrs, 7yrs, 1 yr and 1 month old asked me to help them. So I went to their house, few steps from ours to help them bring things upstairs.
Electric fans, television, books, refrigerator, stoves and everything that we could gather to bring upstairs was brought up with the help of my mom, brother in law and sister. Our chairs and tables started to float. The lights went out. Not worrying of the bruises while carrying heavy things, I eagerly planned in my mind, what might happen next. Then it came to my mind that we may need clean drinking water. With cold flood, mixed with garbage and gasolines, reaching my chest, I try to put a plastic bag in the drinking container to cover it’s body to avoid contamination. I started to walk in the dark trying to locate the faucet in our sink area.
Our neighbors living in bungalow asked for helped. We helped them carry things. And thank God that there’s an empty 2 storey apartment, so they went their, carrying their appliances and clothes with flood and rain reaching their chest.
My mother set up the stove and gasul tank to cook food. We share that food along with some of our neighbors. I try not to sleep during the night to see if the flood will still rise in our second floor. But thank God it did not. The flood reaches it’s maximum, one to two feet below our 1st floor ceiling.
As the dawn came, the flood does not subside yet. I went downstairs with water reaching my chest to get water from the shower that is 1 foot above the flood. Our shower is the only source of clean water during that time. The flood was a mixture of garbage, gasoline and mud.
The rest of the story is a gradual survival process.
The flood reminded me of God’s wrath. As I imagine during the days of Noah, the flood was the result of their wickedness. Maybe God is telling us that He is serious. Maybe He is telling us that if we do not turn away from our sins we will die from it. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that all who died are sinful. I’m just saying that it’s a wake up call to all who are alive today.
I believe that the Philippines is a chosen land. What hinders it from being blessed are the sins, first of the leaders then of the members. But If a Godly leader will lead the nation, our nation will rise.
I suggest, do not just vote a wise man for presidency but vote a Godly man. Choose a President who follows God, a president who do not boast (some boasts that they are humble), and a President with no criminal record. What can save this nation is not man. Only God can save this nation using anointed leaders.
There are no accidents, everything happens for a reason. I hope you find that reason in you, either personally or in a national level. Why did the flood happen?
Just remember, those who died are not lost. God knows who are his, and they are safe with Him right now. I pray that the family with casualties can move on with life with more strength and more love for their loved ones.
Hope is not lost. It can never ever be lost.
God bless
